Pioneer Vocalist Steps Down

By Paul Gibson | January 29th, 2013 | Posted In News

Below is the message from Josh Randolph, (former) lead-vocalist for Pioneer and below that a message from band-mate Dan Voris.

Note from Josh:

To my friends,

Josh here from Pioneer. I have made the extremely difficult decision
to step down as Pioneer’s lead vocalist.

Can’t begin to explain how blessed I am to have been in this band.
Singing for Pioneer has been nothing short of an epic adventure. We’ve
gotten the chance to see the nation and do what we love at the same
time. I will forever remember our journey’s together and the amazing
people I met along the way.

To Chad Shirrell, Dan Voris, Dalton Meyers, Nick Berry, Nathan
Butcher, and Dustin Jones: I love all your guts. I can honestly say
that being in this band with you all has been the highlight of my
life. I will forever be a fan of whatever each of you do in your life
and I will always pray for you and support you in anyway I can. Davy
Baysinger and James Cross from Slospeak Records; You guys kept this
train running and gave me more support than I could have ever hoped
for. I love you both. Thank you.

To those who supported our mission: You all flippin’ rock. We could
not have done this without you. God brought us together for a reason,
and I hope our relationships together flourish long after the band is
over someday. One thing I ask of you. As Pioneer brings in a new
vocalist, make him feel at home, go to every show you can, and buy two
of every CD they put out.

Chances are good if you go to a future Pioneer show, I’ll be the tall
one in the front row, cheering the loudest.

Cheers – Josh

Note from Dan (Pioneer drummer):

It is with very heavy hearts that we see Josh go. He has been with the band since its formation, 5 years ago. Aside from being one of the best, most entertaining frontmen I have ever seen, he is also one of my closest friends. His ability to connect with the fans and make them feel like they were truly part of the show is something I will treasure and never forget. Myself, along with the rest of Pioneer, count it a privilege to have shared the stage with him. Over the years, Pioneer has been through a lot. We have had the best of times and also some of the most challenging of times. We have done everything from sitting together in meetings with presidents of some of the biggest, major record labels in the world, to many nights, sleeping in our van together in many a Wal-Mart parking lot! As a result of all these adventures, we have formed a brotherhood; a brotherhood that few people in this world will ever know. Josh will always be part of this brotherhood and we will continue to love and support him in everything he does.

That being said, we at Pioneer, are going to continue as a full-time band! We are currently searching for a new frontman and are extremely excited to see what the future holds for Pioneer. We are currently writing some of our best material to date and plan on being in full swing by this Spring.  Thank you so much for all of your support! We love all of you and cannot wait to see you this Spring!

-Dan
