The O.C. Supertones and reunion in the same sentence? Yes, please! It is official: The O.C. Supertones are coming back together for a reunion tour (of sorts) in the summer of 2010.

This blessed reunion sparked the creation of a “Best Of” album released this month, just days ahead of their first show. BEC Recordings says ReUnite was created to “showcase this summer’s reunion set list.” And as for the list? Here it is:

1. Adonai
2. Supertones Strike Back
3. Unknown
4. Resolution
5. Hallelujah
6. What It Comes To
7. Grounded
8. OC Supertones
9. Away From You
10. Little Man
11. Who Can Be Against Me
12. Unite

The album features songs from the Supertones’ first four releases with the majority coming from the first two, and arguably most popular, albums.

As a solid Supertones fan, I can say I was pleased with the song selection for this album. It incorporates most my personal favorites (Adonai, Little Man, Away From You) and even threw in a couple I hadn’t thought about in awhile (Hallelujah, Who Can Be Against Me). At first listen, I didn’t feel there was anything missing. But when I took a second look, I realized I would liked to have seen “Grace Flood” and even “Chase the Sun” make the cut, rather than “What it Comes To.” (which I never was all that crazy about). All in all, I find myself quite satisfied with the track list on this latest Best Of album from the Orange County guys.

I was a scrawny teen when these guys first hit the scene. Now, as a married mom of two, I can still say I still thoroughly enjoy their music. Ska is certainly not dead in our house.

The Supertones play their first show May 28th. Appropriately, it will be in Bakersfield, California. Welcome back, rude boys.
