Album Review: Just You And Me By Adie

Adie Camp, former lead singer for The Benjamin Gate, offers a mix of melodic soft pop and praise and worship tracks on her sophomore solo album Just You and Me. The songs, on their own, are calming and relaxing and would transition well into the church. This, however, is as far as they go. After listening to the album, none of the songs left an impression on me. If placed in an itunes mix rotating among other albums in the background as I work, I definitely wouldn’t skip the songs. But, I do not think I would random choose to play the songs back to back while singing loudly as I drive to work.
All in all, the album in enjoyable and Adie offers great vocals, but it lacks a sparkle. I would love to see Adie transition to using less redundant lyrics and beefing up her music with more rock elements, like her husband Jeremy Camp.
